Right to make a sexy little skirt we need about 2-3metres of fabric (depending on length and size). But this is just to get a little idea of price as if we are to order in fabric this will be added to the price of the skirt (alongside shipping costs).

This is one of my favourite shops for high quality, ethical fabrics RayStitch - denim could be a nice choice or wool .

Alternately New Craft House is great - denim & wool/suiting fabrics 

Another favourite and local shop of mine is Simply Fabrics: their wools are super affordable and fun colours.
